This is a very solid unit and fits nicely under my glass topped desk. It’s relatively easy to assemble but you should study the drawing carefully before you do it and proceed slowly. One thing which is not clearly mentioned is that to lock the tray in place you need to pull firmly towards you at each corner. Otherwise the tray slides backwards

Seems reasonably strongly built. The catch on the elevation mechanism can sometimes be a little reluctant to release. I purchased 2 of them and placed one on top of the other so I was also able to stand at a coffee table.
