Wobble Stool
Wobble and Perching Stools
Also called perching or active-sitting stools, these keep you in a semi-seated position that engages your core and keeps your hips open. They pair naturally with a standing desk, letting you alternate between standing and resting without changing furniture or losing desk height.
1. Set the height to the desk
The seat should sit just below the desk's standing height, so your forearms stay level when typing. Both models here use a gas-lift column, so the seat adjusts to your body and to the desk's highest position.
2. Understand what active sitting does
A perching stool supports your weight while still requiring your muscles to hold you upright. It is designed for shorter periods than a full office chair, as part of switching between positions through the day.
3. Match the base to your floor
Check the base design against hard floors and carpet, and against how much movement you want in the seat.
If you sit for most of the day, compare the ergonomic office chairs. Otherwise browse all chairs and stools.
